About this tour
You will be collected from your hotel in Brașov and head first to the Libearty Bear Sanctuary in Zarnesti - the largest ethical bear sanctuary in Europe. You will join the official guided tour led by the sanctuary's own specialist guide, who will bring to life the story of how over 100 brown bears have been rescued from captivity and released into 70 hectares of natural Carpathian forest.
You will watch these extraordinary animals foraging, swimming, and exploring - many expressing natural behaviors for the first time in their lives. Your guide from Transylvania Day Trips will accompany the group throughout, providing additional context and ensuring the experience unfolds at a relaxed, personal pace.
After the sanctuary, you will travel to Bran Castle - dramatically perched on a 60-meter rock above the Bran gorge. Your guide will set the historical scene: the Teutonic Knights, the medieval customs post, Queen Marie's remarkable transformation of the building into a royal home, and the true story behind the Dracula myth.
At the castle, you will explore at your own pace with your guide available as escort and for questions throughout.
An optional lunch stop in Bran village between the two visits gives you the chance to rest and eat before the afternoon - paid locally and at your own preference.
After a full yet unhurried day, you will be returned comfortably to your hotel or chosen drop-off point in Brașov.
